AGAINST ALL ODDS:
NISSAN NAVARA WARRIOR BLAZES UNCHARTED TERRITORY TO SET WORLD RECORD

An epic five-day off-road adventure has seen the formidable Nissan Navara Warrior etch its name into the Guinness World Records for the longest continuous journey across untamed terrain. This newly launched South African bakkie proved its resilience in the most brutal conditions.
The Navara Warrior, built by Nissan in Rosslyn and enhanced by Premcar with increased ground clearance and improved off-road angles, was put to the ultimate test. Nissan Africa's Ramy Mohareb explained that demonstrating the vehicle's capabilities through a world record attempt was the most impactful way to reach the market.
Mohareb recalled Nissan's commitment to Africa, with the Rosslyn plant producing the all-new Navara since 2021. The "Daring Africa" campaign, a grueling 8,000km expedition across eight countries, from South Africa to Egypt, underscored this dedication. The Warrior record attempt was the next daring endeavor.

The challenge was straightforward: a bold, South African-based project to showcase the new Navara Warrior's prowess. Guinness World Records established the strict parameters for the longest continuous off-road journey.
On April 4th, the Nissan and TopGearSA teams held their breath, awaiting the verdict. The rules were clear: no man-made roads, a continuous journey, new routes for each stage, and the same vehicle from start to finish. The daunting target was 1,000 kilometers.
On March 31st, the convoy of four Navara Warriors triumphantly arrived near Pofadder, having conquered 1,480 kilometers without any mechanical issues or tyre failures. The official world record confirmation arrived on Friday, unleashing elation.

TopGearSA's Avon Middleton vividly described the arduous journey, emphasizing the relentless power needed to navigate the unprecedented terrain. The stark beauty of the Namaqualand and Richtersveld nights, with their stunning celestial displays, offered a stark contrast to the daytime challenges.
Middleton passionately recommended the journey, but cautioned that only a vehicle like the Navara Warrior, unwavering even in low-range four-wheel drive, could handle such demanding conditions.
Nissan Africa's Jordi Vila affirmed the record's significance, aligning with Nissan's 90-year tradition of daring feats. "We must continue to push the limits, to achieve what others deem impossible, a philosophy that has defined our iconic vehicles throughout our history."
